Ferrari completes demo run at Fiorano of 2026 F1 car

Ferrari completed a shakedown with both Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton at Fiorano in the 2026 F1 car, post the launch on Friday.

Ferrari held a normal launch on Friday, where they shared pictures and a video package. While they revealed that to the public, they were already prepping up for their first run at Fiorano in the early hours. It was a mini shakedown and not a filming run, which some other teams opted for.

In this demonstration run, they had only 15km across both the drivers, which is about five laps of Fiorano. Pirelli provided demonstration tyres, where Hamilton completed about three laps and Leclerc did the remaining two for both to get a feel of the new SF-26.

During the run, Hamilton activated the active aero system as well, of both the front and rear wings to provide first glimpse of the new system for 2026. Ferrari ran a base mode of SF-26, which will see some enhancement between Barcelona and Australia.

Amid news of teams potentially skipping Barcelona shakedown, Ferrari is ready for the three-day run. F1 has five days of running allotted to all the 11 teams, where each team will get three days to run as per their choice. The Italian manufacturer joined a list of teams to run their 2026 car in shakedown.

The first team to do so was Audi and since then the likes of Cadillac, Visa Cash App RB, Alpine and Mercedes. From the remaining teams, Williams is not expected to undertake any running in the immediate future, while there is little information on Aston Martin, Red Bull, Haas and McLaren.
