Dan Fallows has been announced that he will leave the Technical Director role from November onward, but will remain with Aston Martin.
Having moved on from Red Bull to Aston Martin in 2022 as Technical Director, Fallows had a solid start with podiums coming through at the onset of 2023 season. But the results started to dip by the end of the year and it has continued on until now.
Any number of solutions brought on by Aston Martin hasn’t worked and even though they are fifth in the F1 standings, often Fernando Alonso ranks it as the eighth fastest team as per current running order. They are often outside the Top 10 points places.
With no sign of improvements immediately, there is a change at the helm with Fallows leaving his Technical Director position. He has already left the position at the start of November, but will stay with the Aston Martin Group.
His new role is not defined as yet and neither his successor. Aston Martin have Adrian Newey – Fallows’ former colleague – joining soon, but he won’t be able to do much with the 2025 F1 car, as his focus will mostly be on 2026 and beyond.
“I would like to thank Dan for his contribution to Aston Martin Aramco in the last two years. Dan led the team to the success of the AMR23 which secured eight podiums last season,” Aston Martin Group CEO, Andy Cowell.
At the same time, Fallows added: “In my time at Aston Martin, it has been a joy and a privilege to guide the technical team on their journey towards being race and championship winners. It is time for me to pass on the baton, but I look forward to watching the team’s future success, which I am sure will come soon.”
