F2: Stanek, Browning, Maini, Mini & Meguetounif firm 2025 drive

Roman Stanek, Luke Browning, Kush Maini, Gabriele Mini and Sam Meguetounif have been confirmed with their respective teams for 2025 FIA F2 season.

Invicta Racing –

Invicta Racing is pleased to announce the signing of Roman Stanek for the 2025 FIA Formula 2 Championship season. Stanek, who took victory in the 2024 F2 Melbourne Sprint Race, will join Invicta for his third campaign in the series in 2025. The Czech driver has tasted success in several other ultra-competitive single-seater categories, taking victories and podiums in FIA Formula 3, the European Open Championship, ADAC Formula 4 and the Italian F4 Championship. In preparation for 2025, Stanek will participate in the post-season F2 test in Abu Dhabi alongside his team-mate for next season, Leonardo Fornaroli.

ROMAN STANEK: “I can’t wait to drive for Invicta Racing in 2025. The team has been fighting at the front of the field all season, achieved some really great results and is undoubtedly one of the most desirable options in the paddock for next year. That means there’ll be some pressure for Leonardo [Fornaroli] and I, but I think we’re up to the challenge. I’m ready for whatever F2 throws at me in 2025.”

ANDY ROCHE, TEAM PRINCIPAL: “We’re thrilled to have Roman onboard for 2025. His experience of F2 in recent years, as well as the other series he’s raced in will be invaluable to Invicta Racing in 2025. I see the partnership between himself and Leonardo [Fornaroli] being extremely fruitful as well. That mix of approaches from a driver who knows the ropes and one fresh to the series will push the team forward, of that I have no doubt.”

Hitech GP –

Williams Racing Academy Driver Luke Browning will make his full-time debut in FIA Formula 2 with Hitech GP for the 2025 season. After an impressive 2024 campaign in Formula 3, the British driver stepped up to Formula 2 for the final three rounds of this season with ART Grand Prix. He scored points on his debut in Baku, with a seventh-place finish in the Feature Race, and followed that up with more points for sixth place in the Sprint Race at Abu Dhabi’s season finale.

Luke will be making his return to Hitech after competing in the 2022 GB3 Championship and the 2023 and 2024 Formula 3 seasons with the team. He also put on a dominant display at the historic Macau Grand Prix with Hitech in 2023, qualifying in pole position and securing both the win and the fastest lap in the race. The progression to a full-time Formula 2 drive marks the latest step on Luke’s Williams Racing Driver Academy journey, which began when he joined in 2023.

As reward for a promising Academy career so far, Luke had the opportunity to drive the FW46 during Free Practice 1 in Abu Dhabi and will be driving Alex Albon’s car in this week’s end-of-season Young Driver Test at the Yas Marina Circuit. The Williams Racing Driver Academy has a proud tradition of supporting young talent, which has most recently seen Academy product Franco Colapinto graduate to an F1 race seat. The Driver Academy supports drivers on every rung of the motorsport ladder, working with them on and off the track to develop the skills necessary to race at the top level.

Luke Browning: “I’m so happy that I’ll be racing in F2 with Hitech next season. I’ve been through every category of single-seater racing with this team and to be able to complete the ladder with them is incredibly important and special for me. There is nothing I want more than to win the F2 Championship with this group of people around me, and that is our goal for 2025.”

Sven Smeets, Sporting Director, Williams Racing: “I’m looking forward to seeing Luke begin his first full season in Formula 2 after earning a well-deserved seat with Hitech GP for 2025. Luke’s performance in Formula 3 and his initial three weekends in Formula 2 have demonstrated his capabilities against his peers, proving he is well-prepared for the season ahead. We will continue to support Luke’s development as part of the Williams Racing Driver Academy and closely follow his progress in 2025.”

Hitech Team Manager Clive Hatton added: “After three seasons with Hitech, Luke has worked closely with the team at every stage of his journey up the single-seater ladder. We’re extremely proud of his progression to F2, and to see him get his competitive F1 debut last week in Abu Dhabi. With Luke getting the opportunity to step up to Formula 2 for the final three rounds of the current season, coupled with the experience he has gathered from his Formula 1 Free Practice, and the Young Driver Test this week, we couldn’t have wished for better preparation for his 2025 campaign. Luke and Hitech share the same objective for 2025 – to win the Formula 2 Championship – and we have no doubt that he will be fighting for victories every step of the way.”

DAMS –

DAMS Lucas Oil is delighted to announce that Alpine Academy member Kush Maini will compete for the team in the 2025 FIA Formula 2 season. The Indian driver has raced in F2 for the previous two seasons, taking one victory and five further podiums throughout his time in the championship, securing P13 in the recently concluded 2024 campaign.

In a strong junior career so far, Maini impressed by taking wins in British Formula 3 becoming Vice-Champion in 2020. He then moved on to compete in F3 Asian Championship before heading into FIA Formula 3, scoring a podium at the Hungaroring. The 24-year-old has also raced in Formula Renault Eurocup and World Endurance Championship.

DAMS Lucas Oil has now confirmed its full line up for the 2025 Formula 2 season with Maini alongside Jak Crawford, and both drivers will participate in this week’s post-season testing in Abu Dhabi. The experienced pair will get their 2025 competitive campaign underway in Melbourne on March 14-16.

Kush Maini: “I’m thrilled to be joining a team with such a strong pedigree and history in Formula 2 like DAMS Lucas Oil. I feel like my story in this championship isn’t completed yet, and I know that this is the right crew to help me further my career. I’ve taken pole positions and won races, so now it’s all about consistently delivering over the course of a campaign. I can’t wait to get started this week with post-season testing alongside Jak, and to form an experienced team as we look to battle for the championship in 2025.”

Charles Pic, Team Owner: “We’re pleased to confirm Kush for next year as he’s a talented driver who has shown excellent raw speed throughout his time in the series. We know that together with our experienced team we can find the correct balance and ensure Kush has a consistent level of performance. We believe with Jak and Kush that we have a very strong partnership, which can help us to consistently fight at the front of the grid in 2025.”

Prema –

PREMA Racing is happy to announce that Gabriele Minì will be entering the 2025 FIA Formula 2 Championship with the team. After finishing as a runner-up in FIA F3, and having the chance to make an early F2 debut at Baku, the 19-year-old Italian will step up to the series full-time next year. Minì started his racing career under the PREMA banner in 2020, winning the Italian Formula 4 Championship as a rookie.

He later moved to the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine, where he finished second in 2022, and to F3, where he re-joined PREMA for this year’s competition. In addition to the positive results achieved throughout his year-long campaign, he also secured a sensational debut podium in his call-up for FIA Formula 2 at Baku. Mini will represent the Alpine Academy for the third consecutive season after joining it in 2023. With a wealth of experience and his high-speed potential, he is set for a key career move.

Rene Rosin – Team Principal: “We are thrilled to continue working with Gabriele. We always kept him in very high regard, and after getting back with him for FIA F3, we are already looking forward to making the next step together. Having an early start was a great opportunity for both, especially because we have maximized it with some impressive results. Preparations for the year ahead have already started and the early signs are definitely promising.”

Gabriele Mini: “Very happy to be joining PREMA in FIA F2 and to keep working together for another season. We showed excellent potential and speed throughout the whole year in Formula 3. After the great run at Baku, I hope we will keep working that way to try and fight at the front end of the championship again. I’m grateful for the opportunity and I want to thank All Road Management, Alpine, and everyone involved.”

Trident –

Trident Motosport is proud to announce the name of the driver who will complete its 2025 line-up in the FIA Formula 2 Championship. The team based in Milan and with its operational headquarters in Ossona will field the promising French driver Sami Meguetounif next season alongside the already announced Max Esterson. For the twenty-year-old driver born in Marseille, this will be his first year in the category.

The Frenchman made his debut this year in the FIA Formula 3 Championship, conquering two prestigious victories at Imola and Monza and closing the season in eighth position. For Meguetounif, it will be the second consecutive season defending the colors of Trident Motorsport, with which he has obtained the most significant results of his career and laid the foundations for the transition to the higher category.

Giacomo Ricci, Team Manager Trident Motorsport:“We are very pleased to announce that Sami Meguetounif will compete with Trident Motorsport in the 2025 FIA Formula 2 Championship. We had the pleasure of working with Sami this year in the FIA Formula 3 Championship, obtaining remarkable results, as he has proven to be a winning driver. The move to the higher category represents a natural step at this stage of his career. I am sure that Sami has all the qualities to learn quickly and have a competitive season.”

Sami Meguetounif, Trident Motorsport driver: “I am very happy and excited to make my debut in the FIA Formula 2 Championship with Team Trident. When I made my debut in Formula 3 with the Italian team twelve months ago, I did not think I would grow so quickly. This year I have worked with strong, intelligent and determined people. We have had an incredible season, which has allowed me, also thanks to two wonderful victories, to convince those who support me that it was time to move up a ladder. I can’t wait to take part in the Formula 2 post-season tests and enter a new phase of my career.”
