Beganovic graduated to F2 for the final two rounds of the 2024 season, scoring 22 points across the Lusail and Yas Marina weekends, including a P3 finish in the final Sprint Race of the year.
This followed his title-contending 2024 Formula 3 season in which he achieved two victories and a further two podiums on his way to ending up sixth in the Standings. Prior to that, the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy member won the 2022 Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine, and following the announcement of his plans for 2025, the Swede expressed his delight at the news.
“I’m thrilled to join Hitech GP for my first full season in Formula 2 next year,” said Beganovic. “Having had a brief introduction to F2 over the last couple of weeks, I’ve been really impressed by the car and the level of the championship.
“Stepping up full time in 2025 with one of the series’ top teams is an amazing opportunity,” Dino continued. “I’m tremendously grateful to Hitech, Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy, and everyone else who made this possible. It’s a big, important step in my career and I can’t wait to start working with the team this week at the post-season test.”
Hitech Team Manager Clive Hatton added: “We’re delighted to welcome Dino for our 2025 Formula 2 campaign. Having competed against him for several years, it is great to have him driving for Hitech and we look forward to working with him. Dino’s record in single-seater racing is impressive.
“After two highly competitive seasons in Formula 3, he took his F2 debut in his stride in Lusail, demonstrating that he was ready to take the next step up the ladder. His performance in Abu Dhabi one week later was outstanding. Together with Luke, we have a strong line-up to fight for the Formula 2 Championship title next year. They each bring F2 race experience that will be invaluable heading into testing and the new season.”
Prema –
Sebastian Montoya will join PREMA Racing for the 2025 FIA Formula 2 Championship, the team announced today, stepping up from FIA Formula 3. We really enjoyed the collaboration in Formula 4 and Formula Regional, and heading into the 2025 FIA Formula 2 Championship, we are sure there is good potential to be put to fruition. The step to F2 is never easy, but we are determined to prepare well together at home and in testing and build on that.”
Sebastian Montoya: “I’m very excited to join PREMA for the 2025 FIA Formula 2 season. It was the first team I worked with and that makes it very cool to see how they evolved. It is one of the best teams in feeder series racing and now in the world. I’m delighted to join forces with them again and cannot wait to get started.”
Campos Racing –
Campos Racing is pleased to announce that Pepe Martí will remain with the team to compete in the 2025 FIA Formula 2 season. The Barcelona-born driver will become the new teammate of British driver Arvid Lindblad, who was confirmed by Campos Racing last September to step up to FIA Formula 2 with one of their cars.
Martí, born in Sabadell, Barcelona, on June 13, 2005, has spent his entire racing career in single-seater competitions with Campos Racing. Following a successful karting career, Martí moved to F4 Spain with Campos Racing, where he finished third in the final standings, securing two wins, nine podiums, and three pole positions. In the next two seasons, he continued to defend the colors of the Alzira-based team in FIA Formula 3, being a title contender in 2023 with three wins and four podiums, characterized by impressive race comebacks.
In 2024, the Catalan driver made his debut in FIA Formula 2, starting the season on a high note by finishing second and third in Bahrain. Martí also finished second in one of the races in Spielberg and ended the year in style by winning the sprint race at Yas Marina with an impeccable performance in his rookie season. With all the accumulated experience, Martí is expected to be one of the drivers to watch in the fight for the title in 2025.
Martí and Lindblad will make their debut as teammates this week in the post-season tests starting Wednesday at the Yas Marina Circuit, which will continue until Friday. The 2025 season calendar will once again consist of fourteen events. New to the schedule, the championship will kick off in Melbourne on the weekend of March 15-16. In the following month, April, the championship will move to Sakhir and Jeddah on April 12-13 and April 19-20. The European season will start in Imola on May 17-18, followed by visits to Monaco (May 24-25) and Barcelona (May 31-June 1).
After several weeks off, the action will resume in Spielberg on June 28-29, followed by two iconic events in Silverstone (July 5-6) and Spa-Francorchamps (July 26-27). Hungaroring will host the last event before the summer break on the weekend of August 2-3. Monza will hold races on September 6-7, with Baku returning on the weekend of September 20-21. The final sprint will take place in Lusail and Yas Marina on the weekends of November 29-30 and December 6-7, respectively.
Adrián Campos (Team Principal of Campos Racing): “I am happy that Pepe and Campos Racing can continue working together for the fifth consecutive year. He is like family to us, and we understand each other perfectly as he is fully integrated into the team. It has been a fairly positive first year in FIA Formula 2, with four podiums, including a victory in Abu Dhabi, which should serve as the ultimate motivation for 2025. We will have two young drivers, Pepe and Arvid, with whom we aim to achieve great things once again.”
Pepe Martí (Campos Racing Driver in FIA Formula 2): “I’m very excited to be returning today Campos Racing for my second season in FIA Formula 2 in 2025. Since the start of my single seater career, Adrián father and son have had faith in me and now we are facing our fifth season together. F2 test –
The Formula 2 action in Abu Dhabi is not yet over as the teams return to the Yas Marina Circuit for three days of post-season testing as they put the finishing touches on their 2024 campaigns. Testing will feature several familiar faces while we will also see plenty of new drivers getting used to the F2 car over the course of the three days. So, before we get going, here is all you need to know about the upcoming test.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The three days of action gives teams the chance to collect as much data as they can in preparation for the 2025 season. For the returning drivers, it’s also a chance to work on their race craft or get to know a new team, while some of the rookies will be learning about their new car and tyres with every lap.
The test will run from December 11-13, the morning segments going from 09:00 local time (GMT+4) to 12:00 on all three days while the afternoon’s action will go from 14:00 to 17:00 but only on the first two days. There will be a slight change in the final afternoon session on Friday with running set to move up by an hour, starting at 13:00 local time before the ending at 16:00.
Pirelli have provided the Supersoft and Medium compound tyres for the test, the same compounds used in the season finale over the race weekend. Each driver will have available to them five sets of Mediums and three sets of the Supersofts.
