F1 fans vote the rain-soaked Brazil GP as the best one of the 2024 season ahead of British GP and Italian GP – all won by different drivers in a competitive year.
With the end of the 2024 F1 season, the fans were asked to vote for its best race of the year. And 37% of them voted for the rain-soaked Brazil GP as the best one, where Max Verstappen drove through the field to win ahead of Alpine pair of Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly.
It was an unthinkable result not just for Verstappen, but also the two Alpine cars. Also, the grand prix was crucial in the Dutchman taking his fourth F1 title and the French outfit for leapfrogging to sixth from ninth and even retain the place in the constructors’ championship.
Next on the list was British GP, which was voted 17% by fans. Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton took a fine home win in mixed conditions ahead of Verstappen and McLaren’s Lando Norris. The Italian GP was third on the list with 9% of votes, where Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc scored a home win for tifosi.
The Monegasque made the most of the battle between Norris and Oscar Piastri to jump up the order from fourth. He benefited from an early stop to take the lead and keep it to win ahead of Piastri and Norris. The Brit’s career first win in Miami GP, was voted as fourth best with 8% of votes.
It was the grand prix which changed McLaren’s fortune after Norris’ win over Verstappen and Leclerc. The updates brought in by McLaren Miami kick-started the journey which ended up in a constructors’ win. The Top 5, meanwhile, was rounded out by Monaco GP with 6% of votes.
It was a famous home win for Leclerc after years of misfortunes, as he led Piastri and Carlos Sainz. The grand prix wasn’t as thrilling in terms of action due to early red flag which resulted in no pit stops and the order running at relatively slow pace to manage their tyres.
Here’s the order –
Sao Paulo Grand Prix – 37%
British Grand Prix – 17%
Italian Grand Prix – 9%
Miami Grand Prix – 8%
Monaco Grand Prix – 6%
