Ferrari kept it late but ended up on top to end the five-day Barcelona Shakedown, as teams start the F1 2026 campaign getting good mileage.

After 10 teams made it on track to run the Barcelona Shakedown – apart from Williams – the final day of five-day running saw eight teams conclude their first F1 2026 test smoothly. Both Mercedes and Visa Cash App RB completed their quota of three days on Day 4, leaving eight teams to run on Day 5.

Out of the eight, seven completed their three days, while Aston Martin got their first full day of on-track outing. It was lots of laps for the teams involved as Ferrari kept it late but eventually got the best time of the shakedown – unofficial of course – courtesy Lewis Hamilton (1m16.348s).

The Brit ran in the afternoon and completed 67 laps, with teammate Charles Leclerc (1m16.653s) in third after running 78 laps in the morning session. Both ran the C2 and C3 compounds in their run to collect as much data across the tyre tyre compounds.

McLaren’s Lando Norris (1m16:594s) was second after his morning run, completing 86 laps. The team managed to get the fuel system fixed after issues on Day 4, as teammate Oscar Piastri (1m17.446s) got a good track run in the afternoon, with 80 laps against his name.

Red Bull got the spare parts to fix the car which was crucial for Max Verstappen (1m17.586s) to run and end up fifth. Crucially, he did 118 laps, which was still less than what Alpine’s Pierre Gasly (1m17.707s) managed to. The Frenchman was sixth and got 164 laps under his belt.

The problems that kept Haas to low number of laps on Day 4 didn’t hurt on Day 5, as Esteban Ocon (1m18.393s) and Oliver Bearman (1m18.423s) ended up seventh and eighth, raking up 85 and 106 laps respectively. It was impressive number of laps in half session each.

Bearman ran in the morning, while Ocon was in the car in the afternoon. Has got replacement parts late in the night and a night’s work helped them to start on time on Day 5. The Audi pair followed next in the order, with Nico Hulkenberg (1m19.870s) in ninth and Gabriel Bortoleto (1m20.100s) in 10th.

The pair completed more than 140 laps on the final day as Audi stated, but unofficial lap count had Hulkenberg complete 78 laps and Bortoleto had 67. The list was rounded out by Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso (1m20.795s) and Cadillac’s Valtteri Bottas (1m20.920s).

The Spaniard was the sole runner despite team noting that both the drivers will potentially get a run on the final day. Alonso eventually completed 61 laps in all, while Bottas undertook 54 as a sole runner himself.
