Mick Schumacher is set to complete Prema Powerteam line-up for 2018 FIA Formula 3 European championship. Thus, the German driver will continue one more year with the Italian squad after his rookie season in the series.
Prema Powerteam will be the first team to have announced their full line-up for the upcoming season of the FIA Formula 3 European championship. According to FormulaRapida.net sources, the Italian team has renewed Mick Schumacher one more year after his debut last season. The son of 7-times-Formula-1-world-champion, joins Ralf Aron and Guanyu Zhou, as well as Ferrari Driver Academy pilots, Robert Shwartzman and Marcus Armstrong.
Schumacher’s highlight of 2017 was a lonely general podium in the second race of Monza, while he end up finishing in 12th position in the championship.
Prior to his time in FIA Formula 3 European championship, Mick started his racing career in 2015, where he competed in the ADAC Formula 4 obtaining the tenth final position with a victory and two podiums. After participating in the MRF Challenge Formula 2000 at the end of the year, in 2016 he joined Prema Powerteam in his sophomore year in the German F4.
The German championship narrowly escaped him, finishing as runner-up and being the only one able to battle with a dominant Joey Mawson. Meanwhile, he also raced Italian F4, finishing second by only 15 points less than the Argentinian Marcos Siebert. In the overall standing of the year in the two championships, Schumacher accumulated 10 wins and 22 podiums. In addition, he finished third in the MRF Challenge Formula 2000 of the 2016/2017 season, with four wins and nine podiums.
