Prema’s Mick Schumacher continues with his fine form in the FIA European Formula 3 Championship scoring poles for Race 2 and Race 3 at Nurburgring.
Following on from his win in Race 1 on Saturday morning at Nurburgring, Schumacher stayed in front in Qualifying 2 in the afternoon to claim pole for both Race 2 and Race 3 to be held on Sunday.
The German clocked a 1m20.805s to keep his Prema in front of teammate Robert Shwartzman (1m20.892s) by just 0.087s for Race 2 unlike Qualifying 1 where the Russian had the better of his German teammate.
The Top 3 was completed as per Race 1 result with Red Bull junior and Motopark’s Dan Ticktum (1m20.912s). Having salvaged a good result to keep himself in the title hunt, Prema’s Marcus (1m20.965s) Armstrong did well to be fourth in the order.
Alex Palou (1m20.972s) in fifth was the lead HitechGP car in fifth with Prema’s Ralf Aron (1m20.974s) in sixth from Motopark’s Jonathan Aberdein (1m21.056s). Carlin’s Sacha Fenestraz did well to be eighth.
His teammate Jehan Daruvala who has been consistently qualifying well in the Top 10 lagged behind due to suspension issues. Prema’s Guanyu Zhou (1m21.304s) and Motopark’s Juri Vips (1m221.355s) completed the Top 10.
Position 11-22: Sebastian Fernandez, Enaam Ahmed, Ferdinand Habsburg, Nikita Troitskiy, Keyvan Andresm Marino Sato, Daruvala, Fabio Scherer, Ben Hingeley, Artem Petrov, Sophia Floersch and Ameya Vaidyanathan.
Second fastest time for Race 3
Taking the second fastest time, Schumacher still remained in the front with a 1m20.822s with Shwartzman (1m20.977s) in second followed by Ticktum (1m21.014s) in the same Top 3. Palou (1m21.126s) was fourth with Armstrong (1m21.127s) in fifth.
Fenestraz (1m21.268s) also gained two places to be sixth with Aron (1m21.301s) dropping to seventh and Vips (1m21.372s) improving to eighth. Zhou (1m21.376s) remained in ninth while Ahmed (1m21.439s) got himself into the Top 10.
Position 11-22: Fernandez, Habsburg, Aberdein, Andres, Troitskiy, Scherer, Daruvala, Hingeley, Sato, Floersch, Petrov and Vaidyanathan.
