The qualifying has started with an overcast sky but a dry track, the drivers have gone very quickly, and only at the start, the Dams driver has made a very good lap (1:41.087).

He’s done it before it started to rain, because, at 10 minutes of the start, there fell some raindrops, causing many struggles for the teams. Drivers who already had secured a good position, saw that they could do nothing more, and went back into the pits.
Bird, on the other hand, today could not do anything to improve the lap of his fellow countryman, and he will start second. In the last moments of the qualifying session, it stopped raining and Nasr, from Carlin, took the opportunity to improve his lap. At the end, he has finished 3rd ahead of Coletti, the disappointment of the evening.
Abt, the sport’s promise, ended with a poor 25th position and Sergio Canamasas, the only Spanish driver, got to place himself in 14th position and has some hope for race 1.
Tomorrow it is expected to be a wet race, which will show an intense struggle between Bird and Ericsson, the top drivers in the fight for the title.
