George Russell led the way in FP2 of F1 Dutch GP with teammate Lewis Hamilton third behind Oscar Piastri.

It remained dry in FP1 of F1 Dutch GP at Zandvoort and Mercedes and McLaren showed the way where George Russell set the pace with a 1m10.702s lap where teammate Lewis Hamilton was third behind the first McLaren of Oscar Piastri.

His teammate Lando Norris was fourth. It was not clean for Russell early on where he had a gravel moment but continued on to set a good lap in. The Australian, meanwhile, had to change his helmet after visor issues when he left the pit straight on.

The first Red Bull of Max Verstappen was only fifth who had his kerb moment but didn’t change much around. Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso slotted in sixth in a better show from Visa Cash App RB’s Yuki Tsunoda and Haas’ Kevin Magnussen.

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc could only manage ninth after aborting his initial quick lap. He had a racy moment after he went for an overtake move against Red Bull’s Sergio Perez in Turn 1, where he locked-up heavy but with no damage per se.

Williams’ Alexander Albon rounded the Top 10 to make it eight different teams in the slot, leaving only Alpine and Stake F1 Team outside it. In 11th was Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll from Red Bull’s Perez, who also had a minor Turn 1 moment.

The second Visa Cash App RB of Daniel Ricciardo was 13th from Alpine’s Pierre Gasly, who had a mini battle late on against Piastri. Williams’ Logan Sargeant was 15th from Stake F1 Team’s Zhou Guanyu, Alpine’s Esteban Ocon and Stake’s Valtteri Bottas.

The Finn had his first go at Zandvoort after giving up his car in FP1. He was the last of the runners as Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz in 19th did not go for a quick lap due to a gearbox issue. Haas’ Nico Hulkenberg caused a red flag after he spun around at Turn 1 where his rear brakes just locked-up to send him into a spin.

UPDATE: Both Stake F1 Team and Williams are handed €5,000 respectively for unsafe releases for Guanyu and Albon against Ricciardo and Stroll.
