Lando Norris set the pace in wet/dry FP1 session in F1 Dutch GP ahead of Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton.

It started off as wet in FP1 of F1 Dutch GP at Zandvoort after summer break. Teams ran the wet compound mostly as Haas’ Nico Hulkenberg had three offs – two of them in the gravel and one taking the asphalt route at Turn 1.

The conditions caught out the likes of Alpine’s Pierre Gasly, Red Bull’s Sergio Perez and Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz, especially at Turn 1. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, meanwhile, had a spin at Turn 10 on the intermediate compound.

By the end of the session, everyone took to the slick tyre route where only the Ferrari drivers opted for the medium compound as opposed to the soft tyre for the 18 drivers. After string of late improvements, McLaren’s Lando Norris set the pace.

He led wet/dry FP1 in F1 Dutch GP after a 1m12.322s lap ahead of Red Bull’s Verstappen and Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton in the Top 3. The Dutchman had a scary moment against Gasly in the final corner in one of his quick laps, but all was under control.

Ferrari’s Sainz was fourth after a good lap on the medium tyre, with the other Mercedes of George Russell in fifth. Williams’ Alexander Albon was sixth from McLaren’s Oscar Piastri and the Haas pair of Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen in eighth and ninth.

The Top 10 was rounded by Stake F1 Team’s Zhou Guanyu, with Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll 11th ahead of big runners Red Bul’s Perez and Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc in 12th and 13th. The first of Visa Cash App RB car was of Yuki Tsunoda in 14th.

Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso was 15th from FP1 runner Robert Shwartzman in the Stake car, who took up Valtteri Bottas’ car. Williams’ Logan Sargeant was 17th from Alpine’s Esteban Ocon, Visa Cash App RB’s Daniel Ricciardo and Gasly to round the 20 runners.
