The Monza circuit has witnessed an exceptional day with consecutive victories for Cedric Fuchs and Enrico Förderer, who achieved a double win in the competition. Their strategy and performance allowed them to take advantage of a penalty imposed on the race winners, Robert Consani and Benjamin Lariche.
The race, marked by two safety car appearances, started with the Team Speedcar piloting the Audi in the lead positions. Despite their dominance, a 10-second penalty for speeding during a pit stop threatened their victory aspirations. Lariche, attempting to extend his lead over Förderer, could not maintain the pace and finished 8.9 seconds behind the German driver.
In contrast, the podium was completed by Cameron McLeod and Marco Signoretti with their Mustangs, in an intense duel with other vehicles throughout the competition. This performance was a good reward after an intense battling race.
After a retirement in the first race, Sacha Bottemanne and Viny Beltramelli secured victory in the Pro-Am category with Team Speedcar, changing their fate this time and also reversing their previous penalty.
Following the spectacular accident of their closest competitor, Daniel Blickle, Julien Ripert was able to race solo toward victory in the Am class, with a performance that reaffirmed his control in the race.
The emotions began at the start, where Consani led into the first corner, with Paul Petit in second place and Georgi Dimitrov in his slipstream. However, a collision between the #30 W&S Porsche and the #11 Borusan BMW caused the first interruption of the race.
The race resumed with a minor incident that resulted in a cut of Consani’s advantage once he was penalized for speeding in the pits. Fuchs, who had maintained a good pace, passed the baton to Förderer, who had to face tough competition. Despite Lariche’s efforts, Förderer closed the gap, finishing just over a second from victory.
Other notable drivers included Hudson Schwartz and Lucas Cartelle, who secured fifth place with their CRT-Sport Toyota, while Charlie Hart and McKenzy Cresswell finished sixth. The pit stop penalties complicated the situation for Bottemanne and Beltramelli, who nevertheless retained seventh place.
After the intense experiences, the competition continued with the Ebimotors drivers, Riccardo Pera and Paolo Gnemmi, who celebrated a third position with their Porsche, while Ripert achieved his first victory of the year in the Am category.
The GT4 European Series is getting ready for the next event set to take place at the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, which will be held from June 25 to 27, marking a significant moment within the motorsport calendar.
