The driver of Chip Ganassi team, Scott Dixon, has been the fastest in free practice 1 in Barber. A free practice disputed with the wet asphalt where Power was second and Filippi third.
The first practice session at Barber Motorsport Park was played with the wet asphalt, the circuit was drying slowly but still the drivers have not done many laps.
Scott Dixon was the fastest of the session, the New Zealand driver comes from winning in Long Beach and is ready to make his second consecutive victory at a circuit where the three-time IndyCar champion has yet to win.
In second place comes Will Power, who really knows how to win at Barber, as he did in 2011 and 2012. The Australian started the season achieving a podium in St Petersburg but in the next two races has achieved very poor results.
Third best time to Luca Filippi, GP2 runner-up in 2011, debuted in IndyCar in 2013 and has not yet achieved any podium.
Behind them Pagenaud, Bourdais and Castroneves. Note that the first 6 positions were for Chevrolet drivers, the first Honda has been Graham Rahal.
