Swede Dino Beganovic has taken the victory in one of the best races so far in international karting scenario, during the OK final for the first round of WSK Euro Series at Naples International Circuit (Sarno). Coluccio and Pirttilahti completed the podium.

All started in the prefinal for Dino Beganovic (Tony Kart/Vortex/Bridg) who made an impressive start to take the lead of the race until the checker-flag. The Ward Racing driver had no rival, so the fight in the prefinal was for the second position.

That place was in the opening stages for Luigi Coluccio (BirelART/TM Racing/Bridg). The Italian was leading a group of six drivers where all were fighting hard.

The first one to steal the second place from Coluccio was Genís Cívico (CrocPromotion/TM Racing/Bridg) on lap4. The Spanish driver couldn’t keep the pace from Dilano van T’Hoff (Exprit/TM Racing/Bridg) who started originally from pole. The Dutch driver was the one who finished in second place.

In the final Dino Beganovic was unstoppable. The Ward Racing driver had a clean start and immediately build a gap of 3 seconds with Luigi Coluccio who kept that place until the checker-flag.

Not the best start was for Dilano Van T’Hoff who had to retire. Also Vladislav Lomko (KR/Iame/Bridg) had to retire in a nasty accident at the finish line which caused an injury to the Russian driver.

With the first and second positions almost “secured” the big battle was for the last step of the podium. In the early stages, Cívico was the one who owned the podium place but the Croc driver could not keep the pace from Kirill Small (Tony Kart/Vortex/Bridg) .

Smal despite overtaking Cívico, he was not quick enough to keep that place and created a big group of drivers behind him.

The smartest of all of them was the Finn driver Nikolas Pirttilahti (KR/Iame/Bridg) who overtook Small and escaped from the Russian to secure his maiden podium in OK class. Not the same luck had Taylor Barnard (KR/Iame/Bridg) and Dexter Patterson (KR/Iame/Bridg) who made contact and had to retire when they were fighting for top5.

But the race was not over as the Small was keeping a big group of drivers behind him. The Russian with 3 laps remaining was holding off Travisanutto, Thompson, Askey, Sasse and Dufek.

Thompson tried the move on Small, but both drivers made contact. Both drivers spun, and Travisanutto was not able to avoid the FA Kart of Harry Thompson. Travisnautto was pushed off from his kart, while this got destroyed after the big hit.

Immediately the marshals put the track on slow procedure. This allowed Beganovic to win, just in front of Coluccio and Pirttilahti, Turney finished fourth ahead of Hugo Sasse and Gabriele Mini who made an impressive comeback of 11 positions.

The next round of WSK Euro Series will be held at the French circuit of ASK Angerville from 25th to 28th of April.
