Paul di Resta has been excluded from Saturday’s qualifying results after his Force India was found to be underweight in post-session checks at Silverstone.
Di Resta had qualified a career best-equalling fifth for Sunday’s 2013 Formula 1 Santander British Grand Prix, but scrutineers subsequently deemed his VJM06 to be 1.5kg below the 642kg minimum weight requirement.
It means the Scot will now be forced to start his home race from the back of the grid, or Force India could opt to start him from the pit lane if they decide to make changes to the car.
Everyone who qualified below Di Resta now moves up a grid place, including his team mate Adrian Sutil who will start sixth.
