ABT Schaeffler AS driver Lucas Di Grassi continued the team’s dominant performance, setting yet another lap record, bettering his teammate Daniel Abt’s time set on Monday by just under a tenth of a second.
The Brazillian set the incredible time of 1:29.920 on his 15th lap of the afternoon session. Di Grassi is the only driver to have set a time under the 1 minute 30 seconds mark in Formula E machinery around Donington Park, proving that ABT have the pace to be strong contenders in this second Formula E season.
Mahindra Racing put the highest number of laps in as a team, the joint effort of Nick Heidfeld and Bruno Senna accumulating in a total of 91 laps, just one more lap than Venturi completed. In terms of lap numbers, it was a massive improvement for Amlin Andretti, who put in 10 laps over the day – the first time throughout the preseason tests that the number of laps by Simona De Silvestro has reached double figures.
Team Aguri had a different driver at the helm once more, this time in the form of GP2 and WEC driver Nathanaël Berthon. The Frenchman completed 68 laps, with a time that was 8th fastest, just 4 hundredths behind D’Ambrosio.
The final two days of testing take place on the 24th and 25th August, before the season kicks off in Beijing on the 17th October.
