Delétraz achieves pole position

Louis Delétraz achieved this season’s first pole position. Formula Renault 2.0 NEC subchampion showed an unbeatable domination in first qualifying session. Ukyo Sashara and Kevin Jörg complete TOP3.

First official 20 minute qualifying session for this season’s Formula Renault 2.0 NEC, which started with Dennis Olsen’s Manor MP Motorsport, after completing a really good time but stopping in box. Pontus Frefricsson (Prizma Motorsport) was then in first place. Collin Noble (MGR Motorsport) improved sweden’s time, while most experimented teams stayed in box while just 12 minutes remaining so they saved tires.

Meanwhile Noble was still improving, and when just 10 minutes were remaining definitive pole fight was reached with all drivers on track.

This was felt with an spectacular lap from Louis Delétraz (Josef Kaufmann Racing) with a 1:50.341, insuficient time as track was improving. Noble was first again three minutes later.

Subchampion improved two tenths more, as Sashara (ART Junior Team) put himself in between both german team cars. At that moment red flag appeared on track, with just two minutes left for the session. Fredricsson was the cause of this, in third sector.
