Max Defourny has taken the pole position for the second race of the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 at Spa-Francorchamps. The Belgian finsihed ahead of Daruvala and De Sadeleer- winner yesterday. Norris finsihed sixth.

Unlike yesterday, the 30 minutes of qualifying today, the drivers completed two stints in the session, and not one as yesterday. The qualifying was important in terms of the championship because Norris has options to win the title.

Like yesterday, James Allen (JD Motorsport) started setting the pace, but Dorian Boccolacci (Tech 1 Racing) who shortly took the first position. In the next and final lap of the stint, Will Palmer (R-ace GP) was the fastest followed by Robert Shwartzman (Josef Kaufmann Racing) and the winner of yesterday’s race Hugo Sadeleer (Tech 1 Racing).

Swiss driver would improve Palmer lap time, with seven minutes to go but would not be enough because a minute later, Allen was located on provisional pole. But the reaction of R-ace GP pilots,  first from Palmer and then with two laps Defourny, set the pole position.

A red flag at the end of the session benefited Defourny that secured the pole position. The Belgian needs to win to have a chance of winning the championship.
