David Hadrien claims victory in the OKJ WSK Super Master Series

David Hadrien has been the most efficient driver of the field in the race held at La Conca. CRG’s Gabriel Bortoleto finished second after a contact with Hadrien, and Paul Aron completed the podium.

The race was hectic. The poleman and championship leader, Kirill Smal, got involved in a contact with Bortoleto. This incident meant that Paul Aron took advantadge and took first place for the moment. Laurens Van Hoepen and Hadrien completed the top-3 after the first lap.

Bortoleto then started his comeback, and in the fifth lap he overtook Van Hoepen for third. Meanwhile, Kosmic’s Hadrien stepped up to first after passing Aron, but the Estonian fought back. Finally, one lap later, the French became the new leader of the race.

Bortoleto, who was lapping faster than anybody else, overtook Hadrien for first before getting into the second half of the race. But the fight was not over, and the Kosmic driver tried to keep up with the Brazilian.

With six laps to go Hadrien tried to overtake Bortoleto, but CRG’s own closed the door and they collided and the French almost went airbourne. Eventhough it was a shocking move, David kept the first place and Bortoleto faced Taylor Barnard for second.

Paul Aron then showed up in the fight, and overtook Barnard and Bortoleto, who were distracting each other. As the three drivers battled each other, Hadrien opened enough gap to secure his victory.

Finally Bortoleto overtook Aron for second in the same finish line straight. The CRG Brazilian had a better exit of the last corner and got second by acceleration. Barnard finished fourth and Dino Beganovic completed the top-5.

Kirill Smal is still leading the championship eventhough he finished ninth today. The Russian has a 36 point lead over Bortoleto. Hadrien is now fourth, 45 points adrift of Smal.

The next round will be held at Sarno in two weeks time. Smal will have its first matchpoint ball to close the 2018 OKJ WSK Super Master Series, but it will be very difficult if the aggressiveness repeats.
