Jehan Daruvala has won his first FIA F3 victory at the Norisring circuit. After leaving from the pole in this third and last race, the Indian driver has imposed on Max Günther and Lando Norris.
The Indian Jehan Daruvala has triumphed great in this third and last race of the ??European FIA Formula 3 in Nuremberg. The young protege of Force India started the race from the pole, which maintained in the start before the attacks of Maximiliam Günther. Both started to escape the rest but in the sixth lap the yellow flag went on track for an accident in the first corner between Mick Schumacher and Pedro Piquet.
After that mishap, Daruvala reopened the gap, but Günther followed the trail trying to put the young Indian driver under pressure. From behind, the action was centered in the fight for the podium that finally was in the hands of Lando Norris after a great comeback. The English driver lost a position at the start and was seventh, starting to climb back ahead of a Guan Yu Zhou and a Ferdinand Habsburg who were beginning to lose positions.
Shortly after it returned to leave yellow flag because of a touch between Tadasuke Makino and Harrison Newey. In the fight between HitechGP Ralf Aron and Jake Hughes for third place was added Norris, who worked overtaking to get third with three laps remaining for the final.
David Beckmann and Joel Eriksson also had to come from behind, who were able to advance to the sixth and seventh places respectively. In eighth place Habsburg finished falling, just ahead of Prema Powerteam of Callum Ilott that came from overtaking to Nikita Mazepin, that closed the zone of points of this last race.
Thus, Daruvala came to play to add his first victory in the FIA ??Formula 3 in the urban circuit of the Norisring. Günther, despite failing to win, continues to maintain the championship lead with 236 points against Eriksson’s 202 points after this discreet weekend. Third is Norris with 197 points.
The FIA ??F3 will return on 28 and 29 July at the Belgian circuit of Spa-Francorchamps.
