Dario Franchitti beats best time before qualifying

Last practice session before qualifying, and Chip Ganassi tops again the time sheet. Dario has set the fastest time of the week, more than two tenths ahead of Ryan Hunter-Reay. Sebastien Bourdais has completed the top three. Difference from third to twentieth has been very little, only six tenths of a second and we expect a very close qualifying session, with faster times.

Helio Castroneves, current leader of the series, has finished sixth, repeating again his 1:18.6 he has made in all practice sessions, so he seems to be the most consistent driver, which could be the key to keep in front of the championship. You can review the point standings here.

With about 3 minutes to go, Will Power and EJ Viso have made contact entering turn 7, and the Australian has damaged his front wing, but both drivers have been able to continue.
