CIRCUIT DE BARCELONA-CATALUNYA | Daniel Ricciardo has set the best time of the first day of pre-season testing at the Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit. The Aussie has spoken to the media at the end of the session and has shared his impressions after a day conditioned by difficult weather conditions. FormulaRapida.net has been there to hear what the Red Bull driver had to say.
“Yeah, it was cold,” Said Ricciardo when asked about the cold weather during the day, especially on the afternoon session. “The morning was alright, when it was dry, but the afternoon was just so cold and it was hard to get anything working. I really liked the surface, when it’s hot, but with the cold there’s no grip. Obviously, it was a good day,” The Aussie added. “We ran over a hundred laps. The morning was productive, the afternoon nice.”
“Actually, I don’t even noticed it,” Commented Ricciardo about the halo. “Only when getting on and out of the car, but on track I can see fine. Maybe it could be difficult to see the lights at race starts, but I don’t really know. Other than that, seems fine.”
“It was a good day,” Told the Aussie about his P1. “Reliability was solid. The morning was so good, and the afternoon was so cold we didn’t get any productive running. I would prefere to be in Bahrain or somewhere, I think we would do a lot more productive work.”
“I think it’s hard to say,” he ended when being asked about the possibility of having the best car. “it wasnt’ bad, for sure it’s a good car, I didn’t end up crying so it was a positive day.”
The second day of testing will begin, if the weather allows it, tomorrow at 8:00 local time. FormulaRapida.net will be there again to inform about everything that happens on and off track.
