Dale Earnhardt Jr., NASCAR legend, has announced that he will participate in the inaugural event of the CARS Late Model Stock Tour, which will take place on April 11 at the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway. This track has always held a special place in his heart, and the driver confirmed the news during his recent episode of the podcast Dale Jr Download.
Earnhardt stated: “I’m competing at Nashville Fairgrounds on April 11. I’m driving the Bass Pro Shops car in the races.” He also mentioned that he will conduct a tire test in the coming days to familiarize himself with the car and the track condition.
The CARS Tour is considered one of the most prestigious short track racing series in the United States. Earnhardt is a co-owner of this tournament, along with prominent figures such as Kevin Harvick, Justin Marks, and Jeff Burton.
This event, which will be named Tootsie’s Music City Showdown, will also include a race from the CARS Pro Late Model Tour. The Nashville track has been a historic site for NASCAR racing, hosting events from 1958 to 1984, and then other competitions until the year 2000.
The future of the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway is under debate, with proposals that include revitalizations or its demolition, a topic that continues to generate interest among fans and local authorities.
