Juan Manuel Correa has released a video message for the first time since the incident from the hospital as he pays his condolences to Anthoine Hubert.
After the positive news about Correa making huge progress on his lungs side and eventually getting through a 17 hours surgery on his lower half, the F2 racer has shared a personal video message on his Instagram account on Tuesday.
The Ecuador-American racer remains in the hospital after his surgery with a metal rod fitted on his right leg, which suffered the biggest damage in the Spa-Francorchamps incident. He will undergo another surgery next Monday, which will be the last in UK.
Correa added that he is to fly back to Miami in November and begin the long rehab process, which will last between 10 to 12 months. He talked about accepting his current life and pushing to recover rather than live on with regret to what happened to him.
He also thanked the fans and well wisher for the messages which he has been reading and responding as much while at the hospital. The bigger gratitude was for his media team and his family, who constantly updated the fans about his well being.
Correa also took the chance to publicly pay his condolences to Hubert and his family, who sadly lost his life after the chain of events in the crash. The FIA is conducting their own investigations and will present the answer with utmost care once they are ready.
Meanwhile, Hubert’s mother has been looking for his son’s babykart which they sold to someone between 2003 and 2005. After the help from Twitter where she posted the request, she eventually found the owners of the kart.
Come on Twittersphere. Lets help !
"We are looking for Anthoine's babykart; it was a Topkart brand kart and bought from Thierry Lemarié in Laval in December 1999. We think we probably sold it to a little girl between 2003 and 2005. Thank you in advance for your help" #MsportXtra https://t.co/YDqDK6mldE— #MsportXtra (@MsportXtra) October 8, 2019
