Correa leaves Belgium hospital, shifted to one in UK

Sauber Junior Team by Charouz’s Juan Manuel Correa has left the Belgium hospital and shifted to one in the United Kingdom.

Following the horrific crash at Spa-Francorchamps on last Saturday, Correa was taken to the CHU Liege hospital in Belgium, where the American-Ecuador spent four days before being shifted out.

The intention of his family was to fly back to the United States of America, but it looks like Correa will remain in Europe for the time being as the latest update from the management states him to be in the UK.

His family thanked everyone at the Belgium hospital for performing surgery on Correa for fractured legs and minor spinal injury. He remained in the intensive care unit on all days in the hospital.

In UK as well, the Alfa Romeo Racing F1 development driver will be in the ICU under specialist team of physicians. The statement from their management, who are providing constant updates, state:

“JM Correa will be transferred today to a specialized ICU located in UK. He will continue his recovery process under the care of a specialized team of physicians. JM and his Family want to thank the CHU Liege ICU Team for their exceptional care and medical treatments during the past few days.”
