Mike Conway will make his return to the FIA Formula E Championship at the Paris ePrix for Faraday Future Dragon Racing in place of Loic Duval, who has clashing DTM commitments for Audi on that weekend.

Conway – who raced seven times for Venturi Formula E in Season 2 – last got behind the wheel of the all-electric Formula E car for the Battersea Park finale in July 2016.

The British driver scored seven points in total for Venturi and is renowned as a street circuit specialist with notable victories in Macau and Monaco, as well as standing on the top step of the podium on multiple occasions in Long Beach in IndyCar.

Conway originally signed for Dragon Racing prior to the inaugural season, conducting testing duties for the team at Donington Park. However, he left the team shortly before the first race in Beijing.

The 33-year-old will race for the re-branded Faraday Future Dragon Racing team alongside Jerome D’Ambrosio around Les Invalides in the French capital on May 20.

“I’m honoured to be given the opportunity to compete with Faraday Future Dragon Racing,” said Conway. “The team has showcased fervour and technical prowess this season and I’m confident of the positive results we can achieve together in Paris.”

Jay Penske, team owner and team principal of Dragon Racing, said:

“We are thrilled to have Mike Conway join us next month for the Paris ePrix. He’s an experienced driver whom I have always respected, and I believe his talent and tenacity will contribute to the team’s overall performance in Paris.”

Duval will resume his Formula E driving duties at the Berlin ePrix in June.
