Christian Horner, former director of Red Bull Racing, made his return to the Formula 1 paddock at the British Grand Prix, where he addressed speculation about a possible return with Alpine or the Chinese automotive company BYD.

This was Horner’s first appearance since his sudden departure from the role in July 2025. Since then, he has been at the center of a series of rumors linking him to a possible investment in Alpine or the creation of a twelfth team with BYD.

Horner expressed his excitement about being back at Silverstone, saying: ‘It’s fantastic to be here. I haven’t missed a race since 1993, so I love being here again.’

Although anticipation for a possible return to competition is high, Horner has been cautious in his statements. ‘I’ve enjoyed my time away. I’ve been 20 years in line with Red Bull. It’s the first time I’ve had a bit of time for myself,’ he stated.

Regarding the speculation linking him to Alpine and BYD, the Brit noted: ‘Formula 1 is at an exceptional moment. I’ve been observing the great interest that exists at least in the current competition, and that has led many people to want to participate. I’m not in a hurry.’

Horner also referred to BYD, describing it as a ‘huge company’ and added: ‘I’m here to enjoy the competition, and I’ve been associated with almost all the teams in the paddock. It’s an exciting time for F1.’
