Christian Eckes to Compete with an Injury at Lime Rock Park

The driver of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, Christian Eckes, will compete this weekend at Lime Rock Park with an injury to his left foot.

Although his left foot suffers from a grade 3 lateral sprain, Eckes will maintain his participation. This injury occurred on June 19, when the driver exited the San Diego circuit after the race and stepped into a hole, causing his foot to twist improperly.

After the accident, he was immediately treated at the circuit’s medical center and had to leave California using crutches. Now, a little over a month later, he is presenting himself at the next major event of the NASCAR truck championship.

Even though his foot remains unstable and he walks with difficulty, Eckes has planned to manage the pain and compete on Saturday. He does not intend to have a substitute driver or any alternative plan corresponding to his number 91 vehicle from McAnally-Hilgemann Racing.

The driver arrives at this race placed fifth in the overall standings, with a good margin of 132 points over the cut line for the playoff phase, known as the Chase.

Eckes achieved a respectable 13th position in the qualifying for today’s race.
