F1 announced a contract extension for Carbon as the sport’s podium champagne for three more seasons.

Champagne Carbon became F1’s exclusive podium champagne for celebrations replacing Chandon last year. Chandon had replaced Mumm in 2017, which had been F1’s podium champagne for 15 years until the 2016 season.

The new deal with the champagne company was announced during the Brazilian GP weekend which will see the French manufacturer continue as the sport’s podium partner for three more seasons until the 2021 F1 season.

F1’s Director of Sponsorship and Commercial Partnerships, Murray Barnett said: “Formula 1 represents the pinnacle of excellence in sport, so we are delighted to be associated with such a prestigious Champagne mark as Carbon.

“Our first two years together have been extremely successful and we are excited about embarking on a long term partnership.”

The French manufacturer’s CEO Alex Mea, added: “Champagne Carbon has built a dynamic synergy with Formula 1 over the past two seasons and is thrilled to be extending the partnership with such a prestigious sport.

“Champagne Carbon understands that executing on our commitment to excellence and uniqueness is a prerequisite to this partnership. As a result, we are very proud and excited to announce this multi-year agreement, which will continue from the start of the 2019 season.”

The brand is not new to motor racing as it partners the Amber Lounge parties, while it has also associated itself with endurance racing team Rebellion Racing in the past for three Le Mans 24 Hours races.

It is believed and reported that one bottle of the Carbon champagne is valued at around $3000 since the bottles are wrapped in woven carbon fibre which makes it quite an expensive buy for a consumer.
