Tatiana Calderon will undertake F1 test with Juan Manuel Correa at Circuit Paul Ricard this weekend for Alfa Romeo Racing.

FIA Formula 2 (F2) Championship racer for Sauber Junior Team by Charouz, Correa was announced to have his first F1 test with Alfa Romeo at Circuit Paul Ricard on August 24 in a Sauber C32 machine.

The Alfa Romeo development driver will not be the lone driver as the team’s test driver Calderon will also get a day run on August 23, which will mark her third outing in a F1 car in two years.

She made her debut in a 2018 F1 car in Mexico last year in a filming event and got her maiden test run in a C32 car at Fiorano in the same year. She is also racing in F2 with BWT Arden but us yet to score a point.

Upon the announcement, Alfa Romeo team principal Frederic Vasseur said: “Our team has a proud history of nurturing young talent and we take this part of our mission very seriously.

“Both Juan Manuel and Tatiana have proven to be valuable members of our team, working with us at the factory and trackside, and this opportunity in the car will help them progress even further in their understanding of F1 and in building their relationship with the engineers and crew.”

At the same time, Calderon – on getting her third opportunity – said: “I’m really thankful to Alfa Romeo Racing for giving me another opportunity to drive a F1 car, following my previous two runs last year.

“I’m very happy to be able to work with the team on the track once again and continue to learn and develop further as a driver. I look forward to making the most from this new experience.”

And finally, Correa added: “Driving a F1 car is something I have dreamt about since I was seven years old, so I am extremely excited to finally be in the cockpit. I am looking forward to learning as much as possible from this experience. Thank you to Alfa Romeo Racing for this opportunity.”
