Team Bullfrog GP presented its car at the FIA Formula 3 European Championship race meeting at Spa-Francorchamps and expressed its intention to compete in the series from 2018 onwards.
JC, Bullfrog GP Team Principal, regards the FIA Formula 3 European Championship as the perfect series to enter a new team. “We are very excited to bring Bullfrog GP to the championship. Drivers develop their skills for making the step up to Formula One, but we as a team can also learn a lot in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship that will help us to prepare for the pinnacle of motor racing. As I see it, FIA F3 is a very interesting young gun series. I am already looking forward to being part of it and just can’t wait to get going.”
For JC, who regards himself as a car enthusiast, entering the FIA Formula 3 European Championship will be his first motor-racing endeavour. “We will start from scratch and we are excited by this challenge. We are newbies to the series, but we have experienced partners and will learn quickly. We also have the required financial resources. I think that Bullfrog GP is different and therefore, watching the development of our team will be interesting.”
The new squad intends to make its debut in the 2017 Macau GP in November and plans to contest the 2018 FIA Formula 3 European Championship season with at least two Dallara cars powered by NBE engines, possibly adding further cars as the season progresses. Furthermore, the team announced the creation of an academy. “In this academy we want to support young drivers who haven’t got the necessary budget,” JC explained. “We want to find talented young drivers and enable them to race, regardless of their financial capabilities.”
