Formula E comes back in Berlin for the second season of its history but it is the first time Formula E happens downtown Berlin, around Stausberger platz. Sebastien Buemi was the fastest in FP1 while Nelson Piquet Jr was the fastest in FP2.

Let’s remind that Antonio Felix Da Costa is not present this week-end, being kept busy with DTM in Spielberg, being replaced by René Rast in the Team Aguri car.

As soon as it goes green, every driver goes out, trying to get as much running as possible to learn this new track after the shakedown yesterday. The track is quite narrow which will give drivers some traffic problems in practice and qualifying. In the first quarter of hour, Buemi leads the way ahead of Di Grassi and Vergne who needs to keep his momentum gained in Paris. Lots of driver happen to lose the rear in the chicane in sector one, where we might see some crashes this week-end.

First yellow flag of the session caused by JeanEric Vergne, saving his car from spinning and stopped on track. Oliver Turvey is the first to have a full-power lap with a 58.690s laptime. With ten minutes to go, Bruno Senna stops at the airpin and Robin Frijns stops as well to avoid him. Buemi get a 57.648s laptime just before the end of the session. The quickest man with a race pace is Di Grassi, Prost and Bird completing the top 5.

The second free-practice session saw Nelson Piquet Jr topping the times ahead of Sam Bird and Jean Eric Vergne. Buemi got in the wall early in the session but managed to join the track again. Sarrazin did not have the same chance as his crash caused a red flag in the session.
