Broc Feeney has achieved an impressive victory in the third Supercars race at Albert Park, securing the top spot in the championship standings. The Triple Eight Race Engineering driver started the race from pole and maintained his lead from the very beginning.
This is the second time this season that Feeney has started from the best position, adding his seventh triumph at Albert Park. Despite the pressure from Aaron Cameron of the Blanchard Racing Team, Feeney demonstrated his skill and determination, staying ahead until the end.
The race encountered challenging moments with two interruptions for safety car, but the driver kept his composure, performing excellent management of his car. Despite having a tricky moment, when he went off track due to an action from Brodie Kostecki, Feeney managed to recover and stay in command until the checkered flag, winning by just 0.1447 seconds.
After the race, Feeney commented on his experience, highlighting the excitement of competing at a high level and the importance of defending his position against fast rivals like Kostecki.
Additionally, the competition featured other highlighted moments, such as the collision between Cameron and Will Brown, which caused them to fall to the back of the pack. Cam Waters and Kai Allen battled for third place, with both exchanging positions in a fascinating fight to complete the podium.
The result of this race has placed Feeney at the top of the championship standings, while Matt Payne’s retirement on the first lap due to tire issues has caused him to lose the lead, dropping to fourth place.
With the last race of the day scheduled for Sunday morning, expectations are high to see if Feeney can maintain his advantage, or if his rivals will fight to regain ground.
