It was a Red Bull 1-2 in FP1 of F1 British GP with Max Verstappen leading Sergio Perez, while Alexander Albon was third.

It was a hectic FP1 session in F1 British GP with good amount of running done by the drivers to test the items they brought about in the weekend. Despite others getting to the front, it was Red Bull’s Verstappen on top with a 1m28.600s lap.

It was a tight pack behind being led by the other Red Bull of Perez (1m29.048s), who was only 0.041s quicker than Williams’ Albon (1m29.089s) where the Thai driver surprised everyone with his one lap pace. Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso was fourth.

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc slotted in fifth from Alpine’s Esteban Ocon to make it five different F1 teams between P2 and P6. The other Ferrari of Carlos Sainz was seventh from McLaren’s Lando Norris, who made it six different teams inside the Top 10.

Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll was ninth from McLaren’s Oscar Piastri, with AlphaTauri’s Nyck de Vries in 11th from the lead Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton where the German team set their best time on the medium tyre as opposed to softs for all.

Alpine’s Pierre Gasly was 13th from Mercedes’ George Russell, Alfa Romeo’s Valtteri Bottas, AlphaTauri’s Yuki Tsunoda, Williams’ Logan Sargeant, Alfa Romeo’s Zhou Guanyu 18th, with Haas pair of Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg rounding the Top 20.

There were handful of off moments for multiple drivers like Tsunoda and Russell, with de Vries also having a gravel moment. There was lack of grip in general as they got the new Pirelli tyres with no difference in compound but the structure of the tyre.

There were few with new PU elements for the F1 British GP with Verstappen, Perez, Russell and de Vries taking their third new ICE with Hulkenberg on his fourth. It was same number for the drivers in terms of taking a new TC and MGU-H. As for MGU-K, it was third element for Verstappen, Perez, Russell and de Vries.
