Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel ended the third practice session in Formula 1 Brazil Grand Prix on top from Mercedes duo of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas.
A problem with Hamilton’s breather pipe limited the Mercedes’ driver’s running in the FP3 session at Interlagos but the team was able to fix it on time for him to run again in the end stages of the session.
Despite the efforts, Hamilton (1m08.165s)s) fell 0.217s short of Vettel’s (1m07.948s) time with the Ferrari driver topping the standings while Bottas (1m08.465s) was third. Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen (1m08.490s) was fourth in the order.
The Red Bull Racing duo were fifth and sixth respectively with Max Verstappen (1m08.733s) ahead of Daniel Ricciardo (1m08.788s), followed by the Haas duo Kevin Magnussen (1m09.146s) and Romain Grosjean (1m09.257s).
With Toro Rosso’s Pierre Gasly (1m09.402s) slotting in ninth, the three drivers pushed Sauber’s Charles Leclerc (1m09.448s) to 10th as the best of Renault and Racing Point Force India were 11th and 12th respectively.
After missing much of FP2 session, Nico Hulkenberg (1m09.461s) managed to run well in 11th from Esteban Ocon (1m09.588s). Sauber’s Marcus Ericsson (1m09.808s) was 13th with Renault’s Carlos Sainz (1m09.864s) in 14th.
William’s did well with Sergey Sirotkin (1m09.885s) in 15th as Toro Rosso’s Brendon Hartley (1m09.985s) slotted in between the two Williams drivers with Lance Stroll (1m10.001s) in 17th.
At the bottom was McLaren duo with Fernando Alonso (1m10.020s) in 18th with Stoffel Vandoorne (1m10.289s) in 20th while Racing Point Force India’s Sergio Perez (1m10.116s) slotted in between the two McLaren drivers.
