Mari Boya, Roman Bilinski will graduate to FIA F2 in 2026 with Prema and DAMS, as Lia Block has decided to move to rallying.
Mari Boya –
PREMA Racing announces that Mari Boya will compete with the team in the 2026 FIA Formula 2 Championship. The 21-year-old Spaniard will be entering his maiden season in the series. Boya started his career in the 2020 F4 Spanish Championship, ending up second. After two years in Formula Regional, he finished second in the 2023 Eurocup-3 series despite missing one round, while making his FIA Formula 3 debut.
Earlier this year, he eventually wrapped up his F3 stint with third place with a win and multiple podium finishes to his credit, and took second place in the 72nd Macau Grand Prix to cap off a successful season. Boya will join the team for postseason testing in Abu Dhabi.
Rene Rosin – Team Principal: “We are happy to welcome Mari to the team. If we look at his career, we see a strong progression, and in addition to his speed skills, we know he is a smart and hard-working driver. We are looking forward to seeing how these skills will mix with the team, and we are confident he will continue his form to bring home positive results.”
Mari Boya: “Super excited about joining PREMA for my rookie FIA Formula 2 season and working with the team. I feel I have a great opportunity, and I’m looking forward to seeing how things go. I’m particularly excited to have longer races than in F3, which I really like, and also pit-stops and tyre deg to deal with. Let’s hope for a good season.”
Roman Bilinski –
DAMS Lucas Oil have confirmed the signing of Roman Bilinski for the 2026 Formula 2 season – completing their lineup for next year following the announcement of Dino Beganovic. Bilinski steps up to F2 after a strong season in Formula 3 during which he achieved one victory in the Monza Sprint Race, as well as an additional two podiums, finishing 11th in the Standings.
Prior to that, the Polish driver won the 2024 Formula Regional Oceania Championship with 12 podiums, which included six victories. Bilinski will now graduate to F2 next year with DAMS in 2026, and at the announcement expressed his delight at the chance to step up with the French team.
“Joining such a historic team as DAMS Lucas Oil is a real honour,” said Bilinski. “Formula 2 is an incredible challenge, and I’m ready to give everything to represent the team at the highest level. I’ve learned a lot over the past few years and can’t wait to turn that experience into results on track. I’d like to thank DAMS Lucas Oil for giving me this opportunity and for their trust.”
DAMS Lucas Oil Team Owner Charles Pic also said: “Roman brings a very balanced profile, quick, smart, and consistent. His success in Oceania confirmed both his potential and his professional approach. He joins DAMS Lucas Oil with great energy and a strong desire to progress. We’re looking forward to supporting him as he takes this important step in his career.”
