Valtteri Bottas dominated the Grand Prix of Abu Dhabi ahead of Lewis Hamilton, far ahead from Sebastian Vettel.
Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) started from pole position ahead of Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) and Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari). The Finnish driver perfectly got out of his spot in a start quiet except for Kevin Magnussen (Haas F1) who spun in the second sector.
The first part of the race happens rather quietly apart from a long battle between Lance Stroll (Williams) and Romain Grosjean (Haas F1). On lap 22, Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull) scored a 6th DNF of his season following an hydraulic issue. At the same time, Bottas pitted for new tyres, leaving the lead to Hamilton. Three laps later, the British driver pitted and got out behind the Finn.
On lap 33, after his pitstop, Carlos Sainz (Renault) left the pits with a loose wheel and was forced to stop his car. The race would not know more animation, the gaps between the teams being too big. Lewis Hamilton still tried to put pressure on Valtteri Bottas, in vain.
Valtteri Bottas dominated the last Grand Prix of 2017 ahead of Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel. Kimi Räikkönen resisted to Max Verstappen’s come back for P4 and P5. With his P6, Nico Hülkenberg promoted Renault to 6th best team of 2017 ahead of Toro Rosso. The Force India of Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon finished P7 and P8 ahead of Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa got one point for his last race.
