Valtteri Bottas highlights Cadillac’s facilities compared to Mercedes

In its first year in Formula 1, Cadillac has yet to score points, but driver Valtteri Bottas believes that the new team’s facilities have surpassed those of his previous team, Mercedes. In a recent interview, he stated: “I think so” when asked about the comparison between the two.

Bottas, who was part of the Mercedes team between 2017 and 2021, where he achieved all of his 10 victories, is well-acquainted with the operations at Brackley. Cadillac’s new base in Silverstone is located just a few kilometers from Mercedes’ facilities.

His teammate, Sergio Pérez, who previously raced with Red Bull, expressed his impression of the new factory, highlighting the visual impact of the new facilities: “I have been to many factories and this one is really impressive”.

Cadillac has recently built a new factory in Silverstone, while simultaneously working on facilities in the U.S. The main headquarters of Cadillac in America is being erected in Fishers, Indiana, with power platform development located in North Carolina.

Despite the modern facilities, Cadillac has had a challenging start to the season, with Bottas retiring from eight of the 17 races held so far. He himself acknowledges that the results do not reflect the progress the team is experiencing: “We are seeing improvements in various aspects every weekend, although they do not translate into immediate results”.

The Finnish driver has emphasized the importance of improving within the team, noting that his main contribution is to maximize his performance and help other team members do the same. Bottas concludes his reflection with a message of perseverance, reminding that the path to competitiveness is a long and demanding process.
