Bird sets the pole position at Paris

Sam Bird continues his great pace in qualifying and he took his second pole position of the season at Paris ePrix. The DS Virgin driver will start alongside of Lucas Di Grassi and team mate, Jean-Éric Vergne.

What an event is Paris ePrix at the most visited city of the World, the Formula E cars had to deal with the cold temperatures of the French city. That means have a lot of issues with the tyres temperatures.

In the first group we saw that with Loic Duval (Dragon Racing) who could afford a good lap. Sébastien Buemi (Renault e.dams) was the fastest of the session after his full power lap but, a red flag caused by Nick Heidfeld (Mahindra Racing) crashing into Mike Conway (Venturi Racing).

Both drivers could not return to the track and Stéphane Sarrazin (Venturi Racing) took the advantage of that with the best lap of the session.

That lap time was enough for Jean-Éric Vergne (DS Virgin) to take the lead of the session and the pass to superpole knockout, like Lucas Di Grassi (ABT Schaeffler Audi Sport). Then in third group the drivers didn’t shine and only Nicolas Prost (Renault e.dams) took the pass to super pole.

In the final group, where there were only 3 cars racing, Sam Bird took the best time of qualifying groups session.

The Briton managed to keep the pole position on super pole. The DS Virgin driver set a 1:01.616 min lap, 3 tenths faster than Di Grassi who took second place in front of Vergne. Sarrazin and Prost completes the top5.
