Nico Rosberg has set the fastest time in the second free practise today. It would appear that Mercedes is not as superior as it was in Australia, as there have been less than 0,4s between him and the 7th (Ricciardo).
On the first part on the session, the teams have tested the hard compound. Alonso has been fastest, followed by Hamilton and Vettel. With the soft, times have been really close. Rosberg has topped the sheets followed by Räikkönen, Vettel, Hamilton, Alonso, Massa, Ricciardo, Button, Bottas and Hülkenberg. Alonso made a mistake on his fastest lap and wasn’t able to improve on his second try. Vettel, however, set his best time after his first lap with the soft, so Red Bull is probably better in terms of degradation.
In the last 30 minutes the teams have been testing with high fuel, so nobody has improved the times. We’ll see tomorrow if Mercedes are hiding something or they’ve lost the advantage they had in Australia.
