Beganovic back with Ferrari for FP1 run in F1 Austrian GP

Dino Beganovic, Ferrari, F1

F2 racer Dino Beganovic will be back with Ferrari for a FP1 outing in this weekend’s F1 Austrian GP, as part of the FIA rookie rule.

Ferrari academy driver Beganovic made his FP1 debut in Bahrain GP earlier this year in place of Charles Leclerc. The Swede will return to the cockpit in this weekend’s F1 Austrian GP at Red Bull Ring, for the second time as part of the FIA rookie rule.

He will replace Leclerc once again, due to the new rule of two sessions per car which came in effect from 2025 F1 season. This will complete the Monegasque’s quota for the year, while Lewis Hamilton is yet to give up his two sessions, as he needs more time in the car.

The F2 racer competes for Hitech GP in the feeder championship and sits 10th in the drivers’ standings with 29 points after six rounds. It remains to be seen if more drivers fill up FP1 spots this weekend, which is free of sprint race.
