Oliver Bearman hasn’t had any conversations with Ferrari about his future with the Italian F1 team, with focus only on improving his driving and racing.
Having already driven for Ferrari in 2024, Bearman had his first full F1 season with Haas in 2025. The Brit impressed in rookie season and his performance in Mexico was standout. Overall as well, he finished ahead of highly experienced teammate Esteban Ocon in the drivers’ standings.
Granted Ocon had his off run, but Bearman managed to score three points more than the Frenchman, only add to his credentials as a rookie. He was one of the rookies in 2025 to beat his teammate, with Isack Hadjar the only other to beat Visa Cash App RB’s Liam Lawson.
Considering he is a Ferrari junior, the natural topic of discussion is his move to the Italian outfit in the time to come. For now, they have Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, but there could be an opening in 2027 or 2028, depending on the Brit’s mindset and Monegasque’s will.
For now, there has been no discussion between Bearman and Ferrari about a future drive apart from discussions on where the Brit can improve. “No, I mean, we catch up from time to time and talking about challenges that I’m facing in my season of F1,” he said to media. “It’s just an open dialogue, really. And I like to make it clear what’s going on my side because it’s easy to see just the result on paper.
“But that doesn’t always tell the full story. There’s often a lot more to it, but regarding my future [with Ferrari], no conversation. I just drive the car. I think the rest will sort itself out if I perform at a good level. No positive or negative feedback. I mean, like I said, it’s an open discussion. We talk about what challenges I face. Also, the future, the 2026 regulations are important.
“I have the same engine as what they will have. So, no, there’s been moments where they wanted me to improve on certain aspects. But for me, it was always going to be the case that I improve in these aspects because my experience level is going up. And I naturally get better over time. So, it’s a fact of life,” summed up Bearman.
