Oliver Bearman, driver for the Haas team in Formula 1, has publicly stated his firm commitment to the driver program of Ferrari, thus denying the possibility of a move to Aston Martin.
In a recent interview on the podcast F1 Beyond The Grid, the 21-year-old commented on the dynamics of the driver market as well as his long-term future. Bearman has had a promising start to his F1 career, but the competition for a place at Ferrari has become more complex with Lewis Hamilton‘s performance at the Maranello team.
When asked about his hypothetical exit from Ferrari if two-time champion Fernando Alonso decided to leave Aston Martin, Bearman firmly rejected this idea. ‘I am very committed to what Ferrari has offered me, as they have supported me from the beginning, when I started in Formula 3,’ he said.
Bearman sees Ferrari not just as a team, but as a real dream, highlighting the influence the team has had on his career. ‘I owe a lot to Ferrari, as it is probably the most iconic brand in the world. My goal remains to be a Ferrari driver in the future,’ he added.
Despite acknowledging that Aston Martin is going through a complicated moment, Bearman trusts that one day the team will be very competitive. ‘I wouldn’t say I’m looking towards them at this stage,’ he concluded.
In the 2026 drivers’ championship standings, Bearman occupies the 13th position with 18 points, while his teammate, Esteban Ocon, is in 17th place with only 3 points. In the constructors’ standings, Haas is in 7th place with 21 points.
