Alvaro Bautista set the fastest time in the first day of the second test in Sepang, alongside unusual names on top of the timesheet. Marc Marquez is not taking part in the test due to an injury.
The lack of grip of the track caused a difficult day for the riders. Bautista worked with the rear of his bike and set a time of 2’00.848. Alex Espargaro, with his Open bike, finished 0.052s. behind his compatriot. His brother Pol was third.
Andrea Dovizioso was 0.030s behind the younger Espargaro. Jorge Lorenzo worked on set-ups and finished fifth. Dani Pedrosa was 0.002s behind Lorenzo and was followed by Valentino Rossi. The top ten was completed by Stefan Bradl, Bradley Smith and Nicky Hayden.
Marc Marquez is not in Sepang because of his leg injury and his presence in the last preseason testing in Phillip Island is not confirmed.
