Circuit de Catalunya-Barcelona has released details of new garage doors and LED lights fitting ahead of the upcoming F1 pre-season tests.
With not many weeks to go for the F1 action to begin at Circuit de Catalunya-Barcelona, the track released details of refurbishment they underwent in the winter period to be ready for 2020, with all the garages being fitted with new motorised doors.
It brings the much-needed comfort as the doors will work automatically which has a built-in sectional door for pedestrians. It will be easier now to get in and out of the garages. In addition, the upper section is left transparent for natural light to penetrate.
Keeping its principal of sustainability and environmentally committed management, the lighting system of the garages has also been altered as they have fitted LED lights, which will bring down the consumption level despite the higher power.
The changes will be seen during the two F1 pre-season tests, with the first one set for February 19-21 and the second one for February 26-28. The circuit will then host the Spanish GP on May 8-10, which could be the last one for now.
Barcelona deal with F1 ran out in 2019 but it managed to extend it for one more season in 2020. The future beyond that, however, is uncertain as Miami GP is gunning for a place on the calendar from 2021 in May, which could be a replacement to Spain.
