Barcelona track seems to enter the switching circuits with Valencia, according to recent statements by the President of Valencia.
The Catalonia Circuit regain the controversy over the recent years these last Grand Prix in Formula 1. The track that has a contract with FOM until 2016, saw the idea of switching to Valencia again a reality, according to Catalan press in recent weeks, the President of the Generalitat Valenciana, Alberto Fabra, has met on 20 February with the president of Formula 1, Bernie Ecclenstone, to negotiate the entrance to the Valencia circuit, back in the world championship of Formula 1 from next year, so the running alternating circuits. But the big prize called the European Grand Prix and the Spanish Grand Prix not, which is known as the Grand Prix.
The news was not expected by anyone, as the Valencian Government has so many debts (more than the Government of Catalonia). But it seems that Valencia is willing to pay, though, to pay the same amount of money you pay Catalonia, 17 million. This fee appears to be performed by the City of Valencia, but the circuit has never exceeded the number of spectators and the track Catalan Grand Prix has always been much the deficit, despite having a huge economic impact the area.
Catalonia has not said anything about it but the President has said previously that the circuit has a contract until 2016 and FOM have nothing agreed with Valencia.
Circuit wanting or not, as anticipated this situation and this year has received help from 4 million to the City Council and more than a million by the provincial government, to save the Grand Prix.
