The Aston Martin group has collaborated with Glenfiddich to launch a new limited edition 16-year-old single malt Scotch whisky. This initiative marks the second year of a partnership that began in November 2024.
The new creation, called Glenfiddich and Aston Martin Formula One Team 16-Year-Old Limited-Edition Release No. 2, highlights the similarities between the working methods of the automotive brand and the master distiller of Glenfiddich.
Brian Kinsman, the malt master of Glenfiddich, commented that the subtle decisions in the engineering of a Formula 1 car are comparable to those made during the distillation process. ‘True performance often comes from what cannot be seen immediately,’ he emphasized.
This whisky, aged in five distinctive types of casks, features a blend that includes bourbon barrels, port pipes, Oloroso sherry casks, wine casks, and a final touch of Fino sherry casks. This variety provides a completely balanced flavor profile, with notes of stewed fruits and a slightly smoky finish.
Despite its recent launch, the Aston Martin team has had a challenging season in Formula 1, currently sitting in tenth place in the constructors’ championship, with only one point, and surpassing only the new Cadillac F1 team.
