The Racing Bulls driver, Arvid Lindblad, has confessed that he has not fully processed his debut in Formula 1, as he prepares for his return to action at the Miami Grand Prix.
At the age of 18, Lindblad secured a seat as a full-time driver with the team owned by Red Bull after completing a season in Formula 2, where he finished sixth with 134 points and three victories.
The young driver started his career in karting in 2015 and moved through several categories, including Formula 4 and Formula 3, before reaching F1.
“I don’t know if I’ve fully realized it. I’ve been working for this my whole life. That it has become a reality is very special and exciting,” he commented in a recent interview.
Despite competing under the British flag, Lindblad has Indian roots through his mother, making the idea of racing in India an exciting proposition for him.
“Racing under the British flag and having a home race is great. If there were a second one, it would be very special,” he added.
Since the start of the season, Lindblad has shown a lot of potential. In his first race at the Australian Grand Prix, he started from ninth position and managed to finish eighth, thus scoring his first points. Although he has not been able to score points in the races in China, Japan, and Miami, he currently holds the twelfth position in the drivers’ standings, just behind his teammate Liam Lawson.
After a five-week break, the competition resumed in Florida, and fans will now have to wait until the Canadian Grand Prix, scheduled for May 24.
