Arvid Lindblad prepares for his driving test before the F1 Belgian GP

The young British driver Arvid Lindblad, who competes for the Racing Bulls Formula 1 team, has shared news regarding his progress in obtaining a driving license. At just 18 years old, and after his first class, Lindblad feels he is ready to face his driving test ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix.

In a recent interview with beIN Sports, the driver stated that although he has only had one class, he feels prepared to take the test. ‘I don’t think I need more practice; I could take the exam right now,’ he commented, highlighting the importance of keeping an eye on blind spots.

His instructor, aware of his motorsport background, did not point out any significant errors in his driving control. ‘He just told me to keep checking the blind spots, and for the rest, everything is fine,’ Lindblad added.

Regarding the feeling of driving a normal car, Lindblad acknowledged that the need to follow speed limits felt strange to him. ‘It was odd, the idea of having speed limits. Sometimes I find it painfully slow to drive at 30 km/h,’ he said with a smile, while insisting that safety is paramount.

It is important to note that despite his focus on obtaining a driving license, Lindblad has had a promising start to his rookie season in Formula 1. After the first nine races, he is in 11th place in the drivers’ championship with 20 points, just 19 points behind his teammate Liam Lawson, who is in the top 10.

His best results so far include an eighth place at the Australian Grand Prix, as well as seventh places in both the Monaco Grand Prix and the British Grand Prix. Now, his attention is turned to the Belgian Grand Prix, which will take place at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit on July 19.
