Arrow McLaren renews its agreement with Chevrolet for several years

Arrow McLaren IndyCar Team has reached a multiyear renewal agreement with Chevrolet, thus consolidating a technical partnership that has lasted for years. This collaboration comes at a key moment as the championship prepares for the new 2027 IndyCar Series season and the introduction of the new Dallara IR-28 chassis, set to debut in competition in 2028.

The renewal is particularly relevant for both organizations as IndyCar begins initial testing for the new chassis. This next-generation platform will be equipped with improved aerodynamic architecture, a better power-to-weight ratio, and new wing packages designed to enhance racing, making the initial integration of manufacturers essential.

Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren Racing, highlighted that the agreement with Chevrolet is fundamental to achieving the team’s objectives, which include winning the IndyCar championship and the Indy 500. ‘The extension with Chevrolet is key to our competitiveness, and we are excited about what is to come with this strengthened relationship,’ commented Brown.

The technical collaboration between Arrow McLaren and Chevrolet dates back to 2020 when the team entered the championship full-time, resulting in 14 victories, 54 podiums, and 13 poles over these seven seasons. This alliance has helped Chevrolet achieve three consecutive manufacturers’ championships between 2022 and 2024.

Up to the 2026 season, Arrow McLaren has led the Chevrolet fleet in 11 of the 18 races, highlighting the reliability of its engineering. Tony Kanaan, team director, added that the relationship with Chevrolet is stronger than ever, and he expects this alliance to continue improving on-track performance as the new chassis develops.

With the announcement of this renewal, Arrow McLaren is also preparing for its driver lineup for 2027, which will include Pato O’Ward, Scott Dixon, and Felix Rosenqvist, a group with experience and winning capability.
